Trekking
Los Nevados sector
Only half hour drive from Pucon (Entrance to the mountain), is this
unexplored sector where our trek will take place. Most of the trail
is a easy hike, through the different forest types of area of southern
Chile. We will walk through areas of rainforest to observe native species
like Oak PellÃn, RaulÃ, Coigue, MañÃo and Laurel, also for high-andean
forests where we will observe species like Lenga and Araucaria, finding
some ancient specimens, completing our walk in a semidesert area devoid
vegetation, with different soils of volcanic origin.
This site is an overlook with excellent panoramic views of the area,
where natural attractions include the western slope of the Villarrica
volcano or Rucapillan (The devil’s house) of 2,847 meters high, Llaima
volcano (Ditch or drain) of 3,125 meters, Lonquimay volcano (Mount dense)
of 2,800 meters, Sierra Nevada, Picos del Caburgua (Digging with a wooden
spoon), Sollipulli glacier, Quetrupillán volcano (The devil’s altar)
of 2,360 meters, the summit of Lanin volcano (Which is sinking) of 3,776
meters, the small Quinquilil volcano and Las Peinetas hill. Besides
the Villarrica or Mallolafquen (Lake of white clay) and Caburgua (Digging
with a wooden spoon) lakes and of course the whole valley of Pucon.

be done with snowshoes)

Huerquehue National Park (Place of messengers). Trail Los Lagos
To 35 Kms away from Pucón (Entrance to the mountain) in northeast direction,
is this beautiful natural park consisting 12500 hectares. Here we found
great diversity of native flora like ancient araucarias, coihues, hualles,
lingues and tepas. In animal species we found condors, pumas, monito del
monte and pudu. In addition there are 20 lagoons fed by springs, rivers
and streams that flow down from the high peaks.
As we walk by Los Lagos trail to get to Verde, Toro and Chico lagoons,
we can enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the Tinquilco Lake (Calm waters)
and Villarrica or Rucapillan Volcano (The devil’s house). In our tour
also we walk by the Cañadón Del RÃo Nevado, Quinchol and Araucano hills.

Villarrica National Reserve. Hualalafquen Area (Hualas lagoon, duck-likewaterfowl)
In the midst of lakes, streams and araucarias ancient forests, Mapuches
(people of the earth) and former residents of the mountain area built
the trails of Hualalafquen for transit to and from Argentina. This place
not only has a high natural and landscape interest, but also a high cultural
value to those who visit it. In this trip of 6 Kms (3 hours round trip)
the principal attraction are Los Nevados de Sollipulli, araucarias forests
and Hualalafquen lagoon.

Villarrica National Park. Trail Lagos Andinos
The tour begins in a self-guided trail of 30 minute duration round trip
called "Wldlife observatory" on the edge of the Quilleihue Lagoon
(Lagoon and passage of tears). In this place you can watch birds and native
forests of coihue, lenga and ñirre. From this sector we begin a tour of
3 hours, to visit Las Mellizas slope, northern flank of the Lanin Volcano
and the Huinfuica and Escondido lakes.
