Villarrica or Rucapillan Volcano (The devil's house)

 


The majestic and imposing Villarrica Volcano rises up to 2847 meters above sea level is can observed from anywhere in the city. In winter you can practice white sports like ski, snowboard, trekking with snowshoes, among others.
You can not lost the ascent to the crater, because is a unique experience that requires physical conditions and all eager to conquer the top of one of the most active volcanoes in South America, to surround the surface of the crater (diameter of 200 meters), feeling under your feet the alive earth, with excellent views of Villarrica or Mallolafquen (Lake of white clay), Huilipilun (Split ear), Caburgua (Digging with a wooden spoon), Calafquén (Lake as sea), Panguipulli (Land of pumas) and Pellaifa (Place of frost) lakes, besides Llaima (Ditch or drain), Lonquimay (Dense mount), Tolhuaca (Cow’s head), Sierra Nevada, Callaqui, Sollipulli, Osorno, Mocho-Choshuenco, Puyuhue (Water where puye, native fish), Tronador, Quetrupillan (The devil’s altar), Lanín (Which is sinking), and Quinquilil volcanoes.

Season: All the year, depending on weather conditions
Included: Transport, professional guide, insurance and complete mountain equipment (trekking shoes, over pant, over jacket, gloves, gaiters, back bag, helmet, crampons and ice axe)
Consider: Comfortable and warm clothes (three top layers, a trekking pant, a hat and long and thick socks), sunglasses, sunscreen, food, water (minimum two liters), camera and $5.000 Chilean pesos to chairlift
Duration: 9 hours
Minimum: The activity will be done with a minimum 4 person
Level of difficulty: Medium - High
Observations: Suitable for anyone with good physical conditions, older than 12 years. The reservation should be made at least one day in advance to test mountain equipment
